New research collaboration – Blood lactate monitoring

Probe Scientific has been awarded funds under the SMEE scheme for a short term study at Coventry University.

The research, led by Dr Val Cox of the Applied Research Group in Sport and Exercise in the faculty of Health and Life Science will establish the proof of principal for the use of MicroEye® to sample lactate from blood during physical activity.

We are excited to work with a new partner and are pleased to note the speed with which the project was organized and how easy and quick the application process was.

The ability to continuously monitor blood lactate levels has potential uses not only in Sports Science but in critical care medicine as well.

Probe continues to work on a number of applications for its blood sampling technology including continuous glucose monitoring and therapeutic drug monitoring. Probe licenses the technology to companies for exploitation.
